The WHY behind Water Baptism is made up of two parts: it is a SYMBOL of dying to your old life of sin and being made new in Christ, and it is a public CONFESSION of your faith to your family, friends, and church community. Getting baptized is an outward expression of an inward decision to follow Christ.
